Applications
Agricultural and farm track stabilization
For a farm, an impassable exploitation road costs money exactly on the days that matter: at sowing, spraying and harvest, when machinery must reach the fields regardless of the weather. ROAD//STABILIZR® and DUST/BLOKR® are a suitable solution for agricultural and farm exploitation roads, based on Cypher Environmental's international experience on access roads carrying heavy traffic.
Stabilization uses the material already in the track, with standard equipment, and the products are biodegradable and non-corrosive, with no salts attacking farm machinery and no substances raising concerns next to crops.

The challenge
The challenges of agricultural and exploitation roads
Long networks, intense seasonal traffic and budgets that cannot cover yearly regravelling over tens of kilometres.
Access compromised in critical periods
After rain, clay earth tracks become impassable right at the peaks of the farming season (sowing, spraying, harvest), when every lost day translates directly into costs.
Ever heavier loads
Modern combines, grain trailers and trucks far exceed the traffic these tracks were built for, accelerating rutting.
Dust next to crops and households
In the dry season, traffic dust settles on adjacent crops and reaches the yards of nearby residents, generating complaints.
Expensive maintenance over long networks
Regravelling tens of kilometres of farm tracks every year, with purchased and hauled aggregates, exceeds most farms' budgets.

The solution
The solution: a road stabilized from the existing earth
We treat the clay soil in the road body and turn it into a load-bearing layer; the surface is waterproofed and no longer generates dust.

ROAD//STABILIZR® acts on soils with high clay content, exactly the kind of earth found in most exploitation roads in farming areas. The clay particles become strongly and semi-permanently bonded, the layer gains density, stability and CBR value, while swelling and permeability decrease. The result: a road that no longer softens after every rain and remains stable through freeze-thaw cycles.
DUST/BLOKR® treats the surface: it waterproofs and eliminates dust, works on almost any type of material and does not become slippery when wet. Being non-toxic, organic and biodegradable, with U.S. EPA Safer Choice certification, it can be applied with confidence near crops; being non-corrosive, it does not attack machinery the way chlorides do.
We have not yet executed local projects on agricultural roads (our direct references are on communal and county roads, in farming areas), but the procedure in the technical approval is identical, and dosages are set through laboratory tests on the soil from the site.
The procedure
The execution procedure, step by step
The work is scheduled between farming campaigns and executed with standard road equipment; traffic resumes immediately.
- 1
Preliminary laboratory testing
Soil identification according to SR EN ISO 14688-2 and determination of ROAD//STABILIZR® and DUST/BLOKR® dosages for the soil on site.
- 2
Preparing the road
Scarifying, reprofiling with drainage slopes and bringing the layer to optimum compaction moisture.
- 3
Treatment with ROAD//STABILIZR®
Applied diluted in water during soil preparation, before compaction; 1 litre treats 33 m³ of compacted soil.
- 4
Treatment with DUST/BLOKR® and final compaction
Waterproofing the surface and controlling dust, followed by final compaction.
- 5
Resuming traffic
The road opens immediately after final compaction, with no breaks that block farm operations.
Benefits
Benefits for farmers and farm managers
Arguments for farms, farmer associations and the town halls that manage exploitation roads.
Field access in any season
The stabilized layer performs in both wet and dry conditions: farming campaigns no longer depend on the state of the road.
Low cost per kilometre
Using the in-situ material removes aggregate purchase and haulage, which is decisive over long networks of farm tracks.
No corrosion on machinery
The products are non-corrosive, unlike traditional chlorides that attack trailers, combines and installations.
Less dust next to crops and villages
DUST/BLOKR® eliminates dust at the source, with performance maintained through rain and drought and rare reapplications.
Fast execution between campaigns
Standard equipment, no special technologies; the road can be used immediately after final compaction.
A complete ecological profile
Biodegradable, non-toxic products, ISO 14001 certified, usable even in areas with environmental restrictions.

Frequently asked questions
When should the work be executed?
In the warm season, outside freezing periods, ideally between farming campaigns. The layer must be brought to optimum moisture, and the road can be used immediately after final compaction, so the interruption to access is minimal.
Are the products safe for crops and soil?
Yes. ROAD//STABILIZR® and DUST/BLOKR® are biodegradable, non-toxic and non-corrosive; DUST/BLOKR® is U.S. EPA Safer Choice certified. They contain none of the chlorides traditionally used for dust control. MSDS sheets are available on request.
Do you have completed works on agricultural roads?
Our direct references are on communal and county roads, including in farming areas, on clayey, sandy and silty soils. For exploitation roads we rely on Cypher Environmental's international experience; the procedure and the products are the same.
How much product is needed for one kilometre of road?
It depends on the road width and the thickness of the stabilized layer: the official ROAD//STABILIZR® dosage is 1 litre per 33 m³ of compacted soil, and the DUST/BLOKR® rate varies with material and traffic. Use the calculator on our site for an indicative estimate, then we confirm the dosage through laboratory tests.
