Mechanism
How it works
DUST/BLOKR® is applied diluted in water and binds the fine particles at the road surface, controlling dust and waterproofing the running layer. It works on almost any type of material, from existing gravel surfaces to crushed aggregates.
The product's semi-soluble nature is the key to its durability: the treated surface reactivates with atmospheric humidity, does not turn slippery when wet and is not washed away by the first rain. The need for frequent reapplication drops significantly compared with conventional treatments.
Unlike traditional chlorides, which are corrosive to equipment and aggressive towards the environment, DUST/BLOKR® is organic, non-toxic and biodegradable, certified U.S. EPA Safer Choice and compliant with the Boeing BSS7432 standard.

The application rate varies with the material type and traffic intensity; it is established for each project individually, together with our team.
Surface preparation
For topical application, the surface is cleaned and graded. For the incorporated method, the road is reprofiled with standard equipment.
Dilution in water
DUST/BLOKR® is diluted in water according to the application rate established for the project.
Application
The solution is either sprayed on the surface with a water truck fitted with a spray bar, or incorporated into the top 5–7.5 cm of the surface during reprofiling. No specialized equipment is required.
Finishing and opening
With the incorporated method, the surface is graded and compacted with standard equipment, after which the road goes into service.

Frequently asked engineering questions
What application rate should I plan for in the project?
The application rate varies with the material type and traffic intensity, so it is sized for each project. After assessing the surface and the operating conditions, we provide the technical recommendation and the required quantities. Pricing is available on request.
How is it applied: topically or incorporated into the layer?
Both methods are possible. Topical application uses the product diluted in water, sprayed from a water truck fitted with a spray bar. Alternatively, DUST/BLOKR® is incorporated into the top 5–7.5 cm of the surface during reprofiling. Standard equipment is sufficient in both cases.
Does the treated surface turn slippery in the rain?
No. Unlike conventional treatments, DUST/BLOKR® does not turn slippery when wet: its semi-soluble nature makes it reactivate with humidity, and performance is maintained through both rain and drought.
Why DUST/BLOKR® instead of chlorides (calcium / magnesium chloride)?
DUST/BLOKR® is organic, non-toxic, non-corrosive and biodegradable, with zero environmental impact, certified U.S. EPA Safer Choice. Its results outlast typical chlorides and the need for frequent reapplication decreases. It can even be used in protected areas and Natura 2000 sites.
Can it be used together with ROAD//STABILIZR®? Are MSDS available?
Yes. The procedure in the technical approval combines the two products: the soil is first treated with ROAD//STABILIZR® for stabilization, then with DUST/BLOKR® for waterproofing and dust control. MSDS sheets are available on request.
