The two products solve different problems, and most of the time they work together.
When the problem is bearing capacity: clay soils, roads deformed by wet weather, weak foundations. ROAD//STABILIZR® semi-permanently bonds the clay particles, increases CBR and reduces swelling and permeability.
When the problem is dust and surface water: trafficked unpaved roads, haul roads, parking lots, stockpiles. DUST/BLOKR® binds the fine particles, waterproofs the surface and outlasts chlorides.
The procedure in the technical approval combines the two products: cohesive or non-cohesive soil (classified per SR EN ISO 14688-2) + ROAD//STABILIZR® + DUST/BLOKR® + water for optimum moisture. The soil is first stabilized with ROAD//STABILIZR®, then treated with DUST/BLOKR®; on paving projects, 15 cm of ballast is placed over the stabilized layer, followed by the asphalt mix as designed.
